"I am SO pleased to have found this book! If you are looking to support children to manage emotions this is the ideal resource! It supports the New, Revised EYFS Framework, having an emphasis on self regulation and executive function. The character Ted the Turtle, along with the book’s beautiful illustrations and brilliant metaphorical sea imagery, really captivates the imagination of young readers and helps them to explore their emotions. Use this book to support children to gain their EYFS Early Learning Goal to “Show an understanding of their own feelings and the feelings of others and begin to regulate their behaviour accordingly”.
 

It is such a FABULOUS way to teach this and can also be used as a cross curricular resource to support topics such as “The Seaside”, “Belonging” and “Sea and Oceans”. Check out 5INABOATBOOKS website and Instagram as they offer lots of ideas on how the book can be used to support your teaching. I have used lots of the ideas in class this term. The children have absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK!!"
